Billie Virgil Johnson

Billie Virgil Johnson, age 85, of Geneva, Ohio passed away Friday, November 9, 2018 at Geauga Medical Center. He was born January 4, 1933 in Knoxville, TN, the son of Charles and Selma (Sharp) Johnson.
After serving in the Army, Billie returned to his home in Knoxville, TN until he moved his family to Mentor Ohio in 1957, when he began working for Standard Oil. Several years later, Billie bought his first Mack tri-axle and drove for Osborne Inc for over 30 years and became known as, “The BJ.” Billie loved reading the newspaper every day from front to back. He also loved the local stock car races and Nascar. After his retirement, Billie enjoyed taking walks around the neighborhood and taking car rides just to see what was going on in the area. Faith was important to Billie, and he raised his family up in Willoughby Baptist Church.
He is survived by children, Deborah Johnson, Sheila (Joe) Flynn, Cheryl Johnson, Roger (Andrea) Johnson, Brett (Beth) Johnson; grandchildren, Jeremy (Beth), Melissa, Jessica (Jason), Billie Jo (Charlie), Andrea, Rebecca (Brian), Fawn (Josh), Jessie Lee (Josh), Taylor (Becky), Zak, and Josh (Antoinetta); great grandchildren, Coral, Isabella, Brynley, Zach, Nathan, Dominic, Beamer; sisters, Faye (George) Jones, Janice Sue (Jr.) Beal; He is preceded in death by his son, Richard "Rick" Johnson; his parents; sisters, Jessie Gilbert, Georgie Morgan, Taubbie Lee Capps and Roberta Bonner.
Friends will be received 10am to 12pm, Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 West Adair Dr, Knoxville, TN 37918. Funeral service will be 12pm at the funeral home. Final resting place will be Lynnhurst Cemetery.
