Barbara Louise (Esala) Heino of Tierra Verde, Florida died on Wednesday the 7th of August in Cleveland, Ohio after a four-and-a-half-year battle with cancer. Barbara was born on February 9th, 1942, in Chisolm, Minnesota to Willard and Elsie Esala. She was married to the Rev. Dr. Jacob David Heino in November 1960 and they had four children: David Jacob Heino of Bradenton, Florida married to Courtney (Williams) Heino (children Isabelle, Lydia & Sebastien); Andrew John Heino of Pensacola, Florida married to Lisa (Richartz) Heino (children Joshua, Joseph, Daniel, and Rebekah); Paul Heino of Tokyo, Japan married to Ito Heino (children Samuel, Sarah, Caleb); Tamara (Heino) of Tierra Verde, Florida married to Thomas Guilford (children Taylor, Jacob, Hannah, Thomas Arthur).  She had fourteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. Barbara was a graduate of Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida. She worked as a crisis social worker and worked at the 211 Crisis Hotline until her retirement. Previously she had been a teacher’s aide, pre-school teacher, and executive administrative assistant at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. Barbara was an active member of her church and participated actively in the church choir, Stephen’s Ministry, and Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. While Barbara grew up in Northern Minnesota, she lived in multiple places around the United States alongside her loving husband Jacob David Heino, to include Miramar, FL, Ft. Benning, GA, St. Louis, MO, New York City, Chicago, IL, Washington, DC and Hollywood, MD. Following the passing of her husband in 1994, Barbara relocated to St. Petersburg, FL where she lived out the rest of her beautiful life close to her loved ones. While on a family trip visiting her extended family in Ashtabula, OH, Barbara suffered a sudden stroke which led to her passing. While this was unexpected, she passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Barbara was well loved by all who knew her. She had a smile that could light up a room and a genuine warmth about her that could put any restless heart at ease. In her spare time, Barbara loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. In addition to being a caring mother and devoted wife, she was a faithful servant to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ in her everyday life was the greatest joy of her life.
