Barbara J. Paine

Barbara J. Paine, age 87, peacefully passed away August 1, 2021 at her home. She was born April 4, 1934 to Theora (Miller) and Lyle Jerome. A 1952 graduate of Madison High School and Hamot Hospital Nursing Program, Barbara worked as a registered nurse for over 50 years. She worked for 27 years in long term care, and at Walden Residential where she worked for 20 years.
She served on the Auxiliary Board of Lake East, U.H. Geneva Hospital. She was a former member of the Antique Automobile Club of America, and Madison Old Fashioned Days Committee where she served as secretary and was a Member of Unionville Boosters.
Barb leaves behind, son, Richard (Debra) Paine; daughters, Cheryl (Don) Woodward and Carol (Robert) Cottom; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and sister, Beverly Vannatter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Charles Eugene Paine and brother, Rollin Jerome.
Friends and family will be received 4-7 pm Friday, August 6, 2021 at Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street in Madison. Funeral service will be 11 am Saturday, August 7, 2021 at the funeral home. Final Resting place will be Alexander Harper Cemetery in Unionville. Contributions may be made in Barb’s name to The Salvation Army, Madison Service Unit, P.O.
