Arthur R. Vensel

Arthur R. Vensel age 75 a resident of Geneva-on-the-Lake, Ohio passed away Thursday, April 26, 2007. Born June 19, 1931, in North Braddock, Pennsylvania, to Gertrude (Penkert) & Ralph Vensel. Married Patricia Harris on December 28, 1957 in Tarentum, Pennsylvania. Art was in the insurance business for more than 40 years. A 1949 Graduate of Turtle Creek Pa. High School and attended Kent State University. He was a life member of Theta Chi. He and his wife owned The Steak House in Geneva-on-the-Lake from 1958 to 1970. He was a 50-year member of Geneva-on-the-Lake Fire Department where he served as Treasurer. Mr. Vensel was a member of Geneva First United Methodist Church where he served as Chairman of the Finance Committee, Trustee and Pastor Parish Relations. He was Democrat Chairman of Ashtabula County. Art served on the Ashtabula County Board of Elections. He retired as Deputy Director in June 2006. He also served on the Geneva Area City Schools Board of Education, the Geneva-on-the-Lake Planning Commission, and was a 44-year member of Geneva Kiwanis Club. He is survived by His wife of 49 years, Patricia Vensel; 2 Daughters Beth (Dr. William) Robinson of Amarillo, Texas & Becky (Rob) Garcia of Springfield, Virginia; Son David (Mary Jo) Vensel of Birmingham, Alabama; 6 Grandchildren Rachel, Caroline, Laura, & William Robinson; Alex & Zach Garcia and his Brother Ralph (Bev) Vensel of Las Vegas, Nevada He was preceded in death by His parents Ralph and Gertrude Vensel. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, Sunday, April 29, 2007 at The Behm Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, 175 S. Broadway, Geneva, Ohio 44041. Funeral Service will be 11:00 am, Monday, April 30, 2007, at Geneva First United Methodist Church, 89 South Broadway, Geneva, Ohio with the Rev. John Gross of Geneva First United Methodist Church officiating. Final Resting Place will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Geneva.
