Arnold E. Malkamaki, Age 79, of Madison, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at home.
He was born November 8, 1928 in Painesville, Ohio to Anna Sophia (Wakkila) & Jacob Malkamaki and married Marie Claypool in Fairport, Ohio on 06/05/1954.
Retired from Reliance Electric, Ashtabula and Trans-Plastics, Conneaut
Memberships and Affiliations: He was an avid gardener and spent many years developing their ?Japanese style? gardens. He enjoyed wood carving (especially ducks) and delighted in dancing (waltzes and fox trots) to his son?s big band music (MJP), and the personal relationship with all band members and their families. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and loved all the grandchildren with all his heart. Holidays were particularly enjoyable with all the family and relatives gathered at home for picnics and Christmas. All of the greeting cards had his motto and drawing on them: ?Make it a great day?.
He is survived by wife of 54 years, Marie of Madison; Son, John Malkamaki of Madison; Daughter, Susan Knox of Kirtland; 5 Grandchildren, Carly, Clay, Jordan & Sam Neubert and Jacob Knox; Sister, Anita Ruohomaki and
Brother, Robert (Gayle) Malkamaki.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Brother, Laurie Malkamaki, June 2008 and Son-In-Law, Bruce R. Knox, March 2005.
Friends will be received 6-8:00 p.m., Friday, August 8, 2008, at The Behm Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio
Funeral Service will be 12:00 Noon, Saturday, August 9, 2008, at the funeral home . Rev. William Alvey will be officiating.
Final Resting Place will be at Fairview Cemetery in Madison.
