Antoinette Laura Donatone, age 91, of Ashtabula, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Monday, December 28, 2015 at Saybrook Landing. She was born on January 8, 1924, in Ashtabula, Ohio, to Sanda (Varckette) and Joseph Esposito, the youngest of 10 children. Antoinette had many fond memories of growing up on Harbor Avenue in Ashtabula with her family and many friends; not the least of which was her portrayal of an angel during the annual Feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. She was also proud to be a 1942 graduate of Ashtabula High School. During WWII, she was an employee of Ashtabula Fork and Hoe making bayonets for the soldiers. In the autumn of 1945, she met William F. Donatone, whom she married on July 6, 1946. They would go on to enjoy 66 years of marriage together. She retired from J.C. Penney Co., where she worked as a clerk for many years. She was also an avid volunteer at the local voting polls. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, baking, ballroom dancing, exercising at the Chalk Box, and watching the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Cavaliers with her husband. She also enjoyed attending church services at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel where she was a lifelong member. Antoinette was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family. Surviving her are her three children; sons, Joseph (Sally) Donatone of Kingsville, OH and Ronald (Laurie) Donatone of Concord Township, OH; daughter, Cynthia Donatone of Ashtabula, OH. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William F. Donatone; her parents; brothers, Benjamin Esposito, Frank Esposito, Michael Esposito and Steven Esposito; sisters: Theresa Celletti, Caroline Ferguson, Madeline Esposito, Lucille Napolitan, and Margaret Esposito. The family would like to thank the staff of Saybrook Landing Health and Rehabilitation Center for the love and care that they provided to Antoinette over the past 3 years. Friends and family will be received: 6 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Guerriero Funeral Home, 1550 West 19th Street in Ashtabula. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Our Lady of Peace Parish-Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 1200 East 21st Street, Ashtabula, Ohio with Rev. Raymond Thomas officiating. Final resting place will be St. Joseph's Cemetery in Ashtabula. The Behm Family Funeral Home of Geneva is honored to serve the family during this time.
