Anne Marie Akehurst

Anne Marie Akehurst went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 20, 2011. Born September 14, 1913, in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of Cornelia (Figulska) and Alexander Nowakowski. Anne owned and worked at the US Cocoa Mat Corporation in Madison for 25 years. She was an active member of St. Anne Anglican Church since 1958. She was a member of the Madison Senior Center and the 1991 Old Fashioned Days Queen. Her greatest joy came from being with her family and church family She is survived by her children, Thomas (Zebra) Akehurst of Dorchester, SC, Cecily (William) Rockhill of Geneva, Neil (Charles) Dixon of Geneva, Barbara (Larry) Hunter of Houston, TX and Paula (Steven) Doland of Madison; grandchildren, Art, Tom (Tee), Tom, Andrew, Amy, Lisa, Shelley, Natalie, Sally, Melissa, Christina, Brett & Michael; great-grandchildren, Amy, Morgan, Heather, Ally, Sarah, Natalie, Samantha, Oakley, Zachary, Isabella, Matthias, Charlie, Alexis & Parker; and great-great-granddaughter, Kaley. She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband, Thomas Akehurst; brothers, George, Joseph, Stanley and Alphonse Novy and granddaughter, Valerie. Friends will be received 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm, Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at The Behm Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio, Funeral Services will be held at 10 am, Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at St. Anne Anglican Church, 5236 Middle Ridge Road, Madison with Rev. Kelly Irish officiating. Final Resting Place will be at North Madison Cemetery in Madison. In lieu of flowers, Anne?s request was that donations be made to St. Anne Anglican Church, 5236 Middle Ridge Road, Madison, OH 44057.
