Anne C. Allen

Anne C. Allen, age 91, of Perry Ohio, passed away Monday, June 29, 2015 at home. She was born August 23, 1923 in New Castle, Pennsylvania to Mary Smith (nee Gregory) and Louis Creveling. Anne graduated from Harvey High School in 1941 and went on to earn her Master's Degree in Education from Lake Erie College. She taught English for 16 years at Kirtland Middle School. Anne was an involved member of the St. Andrew Episcopal Church in Mentor. She loved to play and watch tennis, do crossword puzzles, and was an avid reader who enjoyed murder mysteries. Her great sense of humor and quick wit will be long remembered. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed. She is survived by daughter, Martha (Edwin) Irvin of Perry; sons John W. (Keiko) Allen Jr. of San Leandro, CA and James C. (Kathy) Allen of Mentor-on-the-Lake; grandchildren, James, John III, Kathy, Carol, Marie, Jack, Jennifer, Cassandra, Rachel, Kaitlyn; great-grandchildren, Amanda, Coco, Sophia, Nicholas, Caden, Kayla, Sophia, Mila, Reagan, Madison; brother, Richard (Carole) Creveling of Davis, CA. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Renz, her brother Louis Creveling, and her parents. A private family service will be held at St. Andrew Episcopal Church.
