Andrew “Andy” Frederick Romig, age 92 of Rock Creek, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at home surrounded by his family. He was born April 28, 1934 in Chardon, the son of Otto and Sophie (Putka) Romig. He married Roberta Warren on October 6, 1951 in Painesville.

Andrew worked as Maintenance Mechanic for I.R.C Fibers and Dysons until he retired. He loved Polka music and being outside on his tractor. He enjoyed going to car shows and cruising around in his 1964 Rambler. He spent a lot of time in his workshop. He had a good sense of humor and he always had a good joke to share. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren and his dogs.

He is survived by his daughters, Joan Romig, Laura Reznak, Ruth (Bob) Feldkamp, Nancy Mason; sons, Richard (Justina) Romig, William (Linda) Romig; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; brother, Raymond Romig. He was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta; his parents; and brothers, Harlan Romig, and Alan Romig.

Friends will be received from 2:00 to 4:00pm on Friday, July 17, 2026 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison with a Funeral Service beginning at 4:00pm. Online obituary and condolences may be viewed at www.behmfuneral.com

  7. My heart breaks that I cant be there in person. But what I can do, is say some things about my Grandfather. The only thing I wish, is that I wish I had more time. Growing up my sister and I were thr estranged grandchild from Florida. But whenever we were in town, we were welcomed with open arms, accepted and loved. Learning more about him made me realize why I am the way I am. My stubbornness, my work ethic, my loyalty devotion and motivation to solve problems and find a way, all cone from my grandfather. I may have not had alot of time compared to the other grandchildren. But ill forever hold the time i did spend with him in my heart. From driving across country through a blizzard just to spend Christmas with him. To watching Wrestlemania on repeat. Our conversations we had about the Denver mountains and the Florida bugs. And the inappropriate jokes lol. I am who I am today because of you, whether you know it or not. Now you can rest easy with grandma, she’s been waiting on you. I may not cary the coming last name but ill forever a Romig. I love you grandpa I just wish I could’ve said it more when I had the time.
