Alma Spear Paine, age 87, of Madison passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Geneva Village. She was born September 14, 1929 in Painesville the daughter of Viola (Rayl) and George J. Spear. Alma married James M. Paine in Mentor on June 8, 1974. A graduate of Madison High School, Alma was a former employee of the Lake County National Bank and later retired from Goodyear in Akron. She moved back to Madison from Tallmadge in 1988. She was also a member of Central Congregational Church where she was involved with the Women's Fellowship. She is survived by her daughter, Michelle "Shelly" (Bob Randolph) Preston of Rialto, CA; sons, Barry (Denise) Martin of Madison, Scott (Debbie) Martin of Concord; 7 grandchildren, Jamie, Holly (Jason), Tracy (Wes), Michael (Jessica), Nick (Kristen), Angela (Jason), and Stephanie (Robert); and 11 great-grandchildren. Alma was preceded in death by her husband, James; her parents, and sister, Phyllis Hathaway. Friends will be received 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 5, 2017 at THE BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 26 River Street, Madison, OH 44057. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the funeral home with Rev. Rick Hughes of Central Congregational Church officiating. Final Resting Place will be Evergreen Cemetery in Painesville.
