Alice Mae Griffith

Alice Mae (Walls) Griffith, long-time resident of McDonald, Ohio, currently of Madison, Ohio passed away on April 28, 2013. She is remembered as a warm and wonderful Mom and wife, and for her gentle, nurturing nature as well as her amazing baked goods; especially her seasonal fruit pies and dozens of types of Christmas cookies. She was born in McDonald, Ohio on October 9, 1934 to Edith (Zellers) and Kenneth Walls. Alice lived on Indiana Ave. with her parents and siblings, then later raised her own family in the same house. She married Samuel Griffith on July 16, 1955 and was a member of the Evansville Baptist Church. She was active in the McDonald Music Boosters club, and had worked at U.S. Steel and Costello's Candy. Later in life she became an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Cavaliers and loved to watch the Wheel of Fortune. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Mary Jean Regano and her brother Kenneth Walls. She will be greatly missed by her husband Sam, daughters Jacqueline (Alan) Zielke, Jill (Chuck) Tackett and Joni (Debbie) Sheldon. Her grandchildren include Lindsay, Sam, Christina, Zach, Charlie, David and Samantha. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by The Behm Family Funeral Homes, 26 River Street, Madison, OH.
