Alex Mocarski

Alex Mocarski, 89, of Perry Ohio (formerly of Willowick) passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023. He was born April 17, 1933 to Alex and Regina (Dzierzawski) Mocarski in Cleveland, Ohio.
On November 25, 1961, Alex married the love of his life, Janette Slanina. Alex grew up in Cleveland Ohio. He loved flying, was a member of the Civil Air Patrol, earned his private pilot's license and then joined the Navy. After the Navy, while working as a mechanic for American Airlines he enjoyed taxiing jets around the airport. Alex was a lifetime member of the NRA, enjoyed collecting and the firearms sports. He cared for and nurtured many pets throughout his life. Most of all he was a loving husband, proud father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle.
Alex is survived by his wife, Janette; his sons Steve (Debra), Rob (Patti), Vic (Debbie); grandchildren Michael (Heather), Randy, Joshua, Amanda, Kristen, Tyler, and Ben, great granddaughter Madison, his sister Nancy Sydenstricker (Cy) and nephews, Bill (Christine), Tim, and Kevin. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Friends will be received from 6-8pm on Wednesday February 1, 2023 at Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street in Madison. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 am on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at St. Cyprian Church, 4223 Middle Ridge Road in Perry. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve: P.O.Box 72101, Cleveland, Ohio 44197.

I’m sorry to see that I missed paying my respects for Alex. He was a pleasure to meet and a genuine delight to get to know. I shared many great conversations with him over our love of flying as my own father is heavily active in Civil Air Patrol volunteering.
