Carol A. Sirl, age 81 of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at UH Geneva Medical Center. Born in Cleveland on May 30, 1942 she was the daughter of the late Frank and Cora (Grimshaw) Takacs. She married James Sirl in Euclid on May 8, 1965.
After graduating from Euclid High School in 1960 Carol studied for three years at the St. Alexis School of Nursing and spent her entire life in service to others as a Registered Nurse. She served with the Lake County Council on Aging for over 10 years. She volunteered with the Good Samaritans at St. Patrick’s Church. With a spunky, witty personality, people will always remember her smile and infectious laugh. The family would like to send a special thank you to her Physicians Assistant, Kelly Gardner for her loving care and the wonderful staff at UH Geneva Medical Center.
She is survived by her husband, Jim; her children, Patrick A. Sirl and Wendy Formberg; grandchildren, Quin and Keeghan; brothers Frank and Ken and sister, Mary.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00am on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 16550 Rock Creek Road in Thompson. The family will receive guests from 10:00am to 11:00am at the church prior to the service. All are welcome to a reception immediately following the service at the church. To honor Carol’s vibrant personality the family asks guests to wear bright colors to her service.
