Married to her loving husband Robert (who preceded her in death) of Somerset, PA on July 31, 1948, they moved to Painesville, Ohio in 1950 and eventually to Madison in 1956.
Nettie was a loving and devoted wife, and mother who was truly the definition of mother and grandmother. Any visitors to her home never left without a meal, cookies or candy. Every child in the neighborhood called her grandma. She enjoyed tending her garden, feeding the birds, raccoons and squirrels who all gathered around the birdfeeder, and quiet times on her swing with Bob. Most important to her was her love of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the Madison Church of Christ, now the New Day Christian Church in Madison for over 50 years and loved to listen to gospel music. For over 20 years she was an active member of the “Lakeside Rebekahs” at the Grand River Lodge Madison, serving in numerous positions as well as the distinguished position of Vice Grand Master. She traveled with Robert across the country in their motor home enjoying Bob’s hobby of racing midget racers and showing his antique automobiles at antique automobile shows. Nettie also worked as a cafeteria worker in the Madison School systems for several years.
