Wanda Ida Willaman, age 96 of Madison, passed away Sunday, October 29, 2023 at Rae-Ann Geneva Skilled Nursing. She was born in Johnstown, PA to Thomas S. and Mabel M. (Frisch) Cox. She graduated from Johnstown Central High School in 1944.
Wanda was a member of St. Clement’s Episcopal Church in Greenville, PA since 1949. She was in the church choir and on the altar guild, worship committee and various other church groups over the years. Wanda was also a member of the Greenville Symphony for 12 years and was an original member of the Greenville Brass Ensemble. She also played in a German band, a Dixieland band and various other musical groups. She also served on the board and was an active member in the local AARP chapter.
Wanda worked as a secretary at the R.D. Werner Co. in Greenville, PA for over 29 years and was active in the company’s retiree club. She was very talented and enjoyed sewing and reading and playing in her various Bridge clubs.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy L. (Joseph) Meiers; son, Richard L. (Lisa) Willaman; grandchildren, Jason (Kristie) Meiers and Kristen (Brian) Wilmers; great-grandchildren, Jonas, Kylan, Trent, Emilia, and Wyatt.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Thomas and Arthur Cox; sister, Doris Paisley.
A Memorial Service will be held 11 am Saturday, November 25, 2023 St. Clement’s Episcopal Church, 103 Clinton St, Greenville, PA 16125 with Rev. John Wise officiating. Final Resting place will be at Shenango Valley Cemetery in Greenville.
