Stephen Polewchak, age 76, of Madison, passed away Friday, July 7, 2023 at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus. He was born September 12, 1946 in Painesville, the son of Stephen and Barbara (Watson) Polewchak. He married Martica Crowner on December 22, 1986.
Steve proudly served in the 101st Airborne Division from 1964 to 1967. He then worked as a lineman for the Illuminating Company and was a member of the IBEW. Steve was an avid fisherman and enjoyed his annual Canada fishing trips. He delighted in spending time with his grandchildren and great granddaughter.
He is survived by his wife, Martica (Crowner) Polewchak; his children, Karen (Polewchak) Kuehm (Kevin) and Stephen M Polewchak, and by stepdaughters Christine (Fuger) Games (Kevin) and Barbara Fuger. He is survived by his grandchildren, Andrew and Jennifer Kuehm: TJ, Stephanie, Jonathon, and Christopher Games; Bethany and Katherine Fuger and great granddaughter Sophia Games. He is survived by brother James Polewchak and sister Cheryl (Polewchak) Orth. He is also survived by his first wife Barbara Martin.
He was preceded in death by his parents Barbara (Watson) Polewchak and Stephen Polewchak Sr, brother Tony Polewchak, sister Mary (Polewchak) Kelly, nephews John Polewchak and James Polewchak and stepson Brian Fuger.
Friends will be received on Weds. July 12th, 4-7PM, with a service to follow directly after at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cleveland Clinic in support of the Leukemia Center at www.give.ccf.org
