Stephen Dominish, Jr., age 78 of Las Vegas NV, passed away February 11, 2022 at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Cleveland, OH.  He was born April 15, 1943 in Painesville OH to Stephen Sr. “Pete” and Helen (Pike) Dominish.

A longtime resident of Lake County, Steve was a 1967 graduate of Ohio University in Business and Art and worked as an Iron Worker with Cleveland Local 17 for 36 years.  Since his retirement at age 55, he loved hanging out with his car buddies, hiking, camping, national parks, car racing, photography, live music shows, and searching for art and collectibles to fill his homes.  He had a special love for his air-cooled classic VWs and Porsches and many people have met him and gotten to know him from driving his VW “hippie” van around town.  Always up for a good time, he attended the Kentucky Derby and Mardi Gras with his best friend Jack for over 50 years.  From a young age Steve also enjoyed experiencing new people and places and traveled the entire country and much of the world enjoying good times with his family and friends.  When he wasn’t traveling, you could always give him a call to join him at one of his favorite restaurants.  Most of all he will always be remembered as a dedicated father, loving grandfather, and generous friend who always did things his way and never let you down when you needed him most.

He leaves behind his daughters Lisa Dominish of Stamford, CT and Renee Dominish of Mayfield Hts, OH; sons Stephen Dominish III (DeAnn) of Gates Mills, OH and Frank Dominish (Yhola) of Columbus, OH; son-in-law Dave Niederman Charlotte, NC; grandchildren Zach, Eli, Jack, Sasha, Cole, Abby, Chloe and Franco; siblings Gloria Dobbert, Sally Yager and Bill Dominish.  He was preceded in death by daughter Sonia Niederman; parents Helen and Stephen; and brother Dennis Dominish.

The family plans a memorial service at Perry Cemetery on May 28, 2022 at 11:00am to celebrate his life and friendships. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Sierra Club Foundation in Steve’s name.
