Roy C. Whipple, age 90, of Madison, OH passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at the Lake Health Madison ER. He was born April 29, 1928 in Madison, OH to Wilson and Eva (Brown) Whipple. He married Winifred Trisket on October 29, 1946.
He worked for Reliance Electric in Ashtabula as an assembler for 40 years. During that time he also served as a Madison Village Policeman and as a zoning inspector. In addition he served as a councilman and was a member of the fire district board. After retirement he became a cemetery caretaker at Fairview Cemetery for over 20 years.
Roy was a founding member of Western Reserve Toastmasters Club and was also a member of Central Congregational Church where he sang in the Choir as well as being a member of the Madison Chorale.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Winnie; his children Cheryl (Rodney) Fisher, Debbie (Dave) Williamson, David (Lisa) Whipple; 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Wallace, Russell, Kenneth and Sheldon Whipple.
Private Family Services will be observed. Final Resting Place will be Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family would request that donations be made to the charity of your choice in Roy’s name.

My prayers and sympathies go out to you all, Debbie, Cheryl, David and Mrs. Whipple (Winnie). I just saw this as I don't get on FB anymore. Where did the Madison Press go? HAHA. I am so so sorry to hear about your dad and husband. I am so blessed to have known him. I always like him. I remember back to staying overnight at your house all through school years. How your parents ever put up with us making all that noise down in the basement till the wee hours of the morning. :-) Then, I would see them at Old Fashioned Days every year and they would always remember me as we stood and talked for awhile. I am so glad, Deb, that I stopped over a few years ago at their celebration (I think an anniversary?). I was so impressed and how good your parents both looked. I remember thinking how blessed you were to have them still in your life. I lost mine so long ago. What a blessing parents are. Each time I drive by their house, I wave and say a silent hello. Your dad will be deeply missed by so many Madisonites. My prayers are with the whole family for peace, comfort, understanding and wisdom. I am so sorry for your loss.
