Stan Heffner left a message on September 30, 2020:
Of all my fond memories of Bob, perhaps the most salient was his focus on family and his advocacy for children. Bob was a kind man, generous in sharing what he had to help others. He shaped schools to assure that future generations of his beloved Madison could benefit from their education. The Wickert family and Madison as a community have lost a great man, but his memory and legacy remain in tribute to him. RIP Bob.

Dearest Friends, Bob was one of my longest living friends having grown up together in North Madison being classmates through the 12 grades and members of the First Baptist Church. Our love continued for The Old Tavern and efforts to preserve it. His faith has been an inspiration to me and so many others. Peace and joy to the family at this time, Barbara Keyse Rockow
