I have so many memories with this man. If you had to have a stepdad he would be the one you want. He would always make sure that he took us where he could. He always helped with homework where he could. The man was a car genius. When I was in 4th grade we had to make a styrofoam boat that floated. The last time I was at his house he still had it. I’m 37 years old now. I will miss his laugh. I will miss going to get Chinese with him when I came up. He loved us like we were his own kids and we loved him right back.

Rick did have a heart of gold. We shared so many great memories together. He was a fantastic step-father to my girls. He was always waking me up in the middle of the night to go on a road trip to find a fun place to take the girls. When we danced, either he was on his knees or put me on a chair because I am so short. I will never forget when he got sprayed by a skunk at 3:30 in the morning. He thought it was a cat and kicked it. OMG!!! is about all I can say about that. He was nicknamed the Skunk Man after that. There are too many good times to mention them all but those are two of my favorites. I send my deepest condolences to the family. I am so, so sorry for your loss. He will be missed dearly.

Only had Rick for a neighbor for two years, but I can proudly say he was one of the best neighbors we ever had. We are definitely going to miss sharing stories with him and Bootsie by the fire. Willie loved talking to him about all the John Deere tractors. Godspeed my friend. The Henrys Todd, Regina, Erin, Lucas “moose”, Liam “Willie”
