Raymond T. King, age 68, of Geneva-on-the-Lake, passed away Friday, August 18, 2023 at UH Geauga Medical Center with his family by his side. Raymond was born August 25, 1954 in Youngstown, Ohio.

At the age of 17, Raymond traveled the world serving with the United States Navy. He enjoyed fishing, playing golf, traveling, spending time with friends and family, and spending time in Florida and Geneva-on-the-Lake. Raymond worked for 38 years in the railroad industry when he finally retired in 2013 from CSX Corp.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Sandy; son, Gregory (Jessica) King; two grandchildren, Mitchell and Avery; sister, Nancy (Tim) Barnes; and nephew, Alex Barnes. He was preceded in death by his son, Raymond T. King Jr.; his parents, Raymond and Betty King; father-in-law, Jim Linhart; and nephew, Micah Barnes.

Friends will be received 10 am -12 noon Monday August 21, 2023, at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 175 S. Broadway, Geneva. A Funeral Service will follow at 12 noon in the funeral home. Final resting place will be Evergreen Cemetery in Geneva.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.

Dear Sandy, Greg and the King family, we were so sorry to learn of Theo’s passing. Given the miles between us, sadly I didn’t have much time to spend with Theo. But the during those times I was with him, I enjoyed every minute of getting to know this bigger than life, gentle giant of a man. With me he was gregarious, funny and warm. Curious about what my life was like in such a strange and faraway place like California, we both enjoyed sharing stories about our lives. We had one of our few but wonderful visits at my niece’s wedding in Pittsburgh years ago during which we spent some very enjoyable quality time. And also while visiting the family at my childhood summer haven, Geneva-on-the-lake! He will be missed and fondly remembered. Wishing you all strength, comfort and peace.
