Ralph W. Spaulding age 86 of Saybrook, formerly of Madison, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at the Lantern of Saybrook. Born August 31, 1937 in Kirtland, Ohio he was the son of the late Gladys (Chambers) & George Spaulding. He married Gloria B. Hogen in New Wilmington, PA on June 17, 1961
A 1955 Graduate of Madison High School he then went on to graduate in 1960 from Edinboro. He received his Master’s Degree in 1984 from Lake Erie College and worked as a teacher for the Madison Local Schools and Geneva Area School District where he also served as a Principal for many years. He was a member of Park United Methodist Church in Madison, the Geneva Grape Jamboree Committee and the Madison Old Fashioned Days Committee.
He is survived by his sons: R. Scott (Karalee) Spaulding, Calvin (Paula) Spaulding, Walter (Stacy) Spaulding, Andy (Ava) Spaulding ; daughter: Terri (Brent) Carrick; 10 Grandchildren; 13 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Gloria Spalding; his parents; brothers, George Spaulding and John Spaulding.
Friends will be received from 3:00 to 7:00pm on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at The Behm Family Funeral Homes, 26 River Street in Madison. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, February 19, 2024 at Park United Methodist Church, 31 Park Street in Madison. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Madison.
