Paul A. Molan, age 58, passed away unexpectedly on May 3^rd 2023. He was born on July 23, 1964 to Marija Molan (Mirtic) and Paul J. Molan. Raised on a cattle farm with his brothers and sisters in Thompson, Ohio, Paul was always a country boy at heart. The ultimate handy man, he started his own construction company at 21 years old. Paul was dedicated to the success of his business M&M Home Improvements, and worked every day. He was meticulous; known to be a perfectionist, and took immense pride in providing high quality work to his clients. Paul always believed in “doing it right.”

He absolutely loved his family, and was especially loyal to his wife Debora of almost 36 years whom he married on June 20, 1987. Paul’s children made him so proud; always boasting about his Army son and his nurse daughter. He was overjoyed to become a Papa and cherished every moment making his grandkids smile. Paul’s three year old grandson, Ben adored him unconditionally. He also had a close relationship with his nephew Jack. He had an affinity for all animals and loved his yellow lab Mack. Paul was a passionate, friendly man that loved talking to anyone and everyone. He enjoyed meeting new people and was friends with what seemed to be all of Geauga County and beyond. You knew you could call Paul if you wanted a nice long chat.

He was also committed to helping anyone in need.  With one phone call, he would be assisting friends or family with any urgent home/building issue. Whether it was fixing their roof on a Sunday afternoon, plumbing, electrical, or anything in between, it didn’t matter when or where, he was on the way to help. If he couldn’t fix it, there was never an issue because he always “had a guy for that.” Paul had a longtime involvement in Hambden Zoning and was very proud to be elected as a Hambden Township trustee; recently serving his second term.

Paul was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. His fishing buddies were like family. He was his most content when on the water, where his fishing stories were no exaggeration. While fishing was his passion, farming was his recent joy, tending his fields as the sun rose and fell in the summer and fall.

Always busy, he never stopped doing something; working hard made him happy, unless of course he was fishing for bass or walleye. You could find him at 2:00 am in the middle of Chardon winters, plowing snow or shoveling sidewalks to ensure the safety of multiple local businesses.

He is survived by wife Debora (McGarry), son Staff Sergeant Paul Joseph McGarry Molan (PJ) and Daughter Amber MarijaRoetzel (Buno), his favorite son-in-law Anthony Roetzel (T-2). He was the most amazing, loving, and fun Papa to Benjamin and Tyler Roetzel. Also survived by his sisters Mary Molan and Christine Molan, brothers Frank Molan, Tony Molan (Stefanie). He was Brother-in-law to Pat Karraffe (George deceased) Sharon Clydesdale (Tom) Christine Murray (deceased) Paul Murray, William McGarry (Elizabeth), Kelly Nikolet (Ron), Paul had many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Marija and Paul Molan.

Guests will be received on Monday May 8^th, 2023 from 4:00 pm- 8:00 pm at Behm Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison, OH. 44057.

Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday May 9th, 2023 at 11:00 am at St. Patrick Church, 16550 Rock Creek Rd., Thompson, OH 44086.
