When my brother and I were young (ages 4 and 6), we stayed with Grandma Walter and Aunt Mary Ellen for a week, while our parents and other 2 siblings traveled to Washington D.C. Aunt Mary Ellen was so attentive and thoughtful. She took us to an Easter Egg Hunt, arranged play time with neighbor children, was joyful and made our time there as fun and memorable as possible. In High School, my brother and I stayed for Thanksgiving, visiting from Spring Vale. She got out letter sweaters from their high school years at Perry, Ohio, prom dresses, wedding dresses and memory after memory. We heard about her Caribbean cruise she got to go on as a young woman, it became a lifetime memory. Aunt Mary Ellen was a joyful person, very humble and always a friend. She was a hard worker and kind towards everyone. She will be missed. We loved her very much.

Aunt Mary Ellen (like her siblings) was so kind hearted. I always remember our trips to Perry in the late 80s and early 90s when we would visit Mary Ellen, Rebecca, Marie and Dallas. We had the best time watching MTV and Kids Incorporated while Mary Ellen made us zucchini bars.
