Kathleen Linehan, age 88, of Harpersfield, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 9, 2024 at the UH Geauga Medical Center surrounded by her loving family and caring medical staff. Kathleen was born on October 1, 1935, in Bellevue, Ohio, daughter of Alfred and Verena Dick and younger sister of Bob and FJ Dick. After high school, she attended Providence Hospital School of Nursing in Sandusky, Ohio and graduated with her Registered Nursing degree in 1957. Kathleen became a floor nurse at Bellevue Hospital and would go on to work as a Registered Nurse on and off until she retired in 2012. Some of the nursing jobs she held were at Geneva Health Care Center in Geneva, Ohio, Heather Hill Nursing Home in Chardon, Ohio and Kemper House in Mentor, Ohio. She met and married Tim Linehan of Clyde, Ohio in 1959 and they had 3 children: Michael, Matthew, and Teresa.
Kathleen first and foremost loved her kids. She was a devoted mother and wife and found joy in raising her children, showing unconditional love, and modeling the importance of family. Not only was she a mother of 3, but there were many neighborhood kids and friends of her children that considered her a second mom and always addressed her as Mrs. Linehan and turned to her for motherly love and a delicious meal from time to time. Kathleen also worked and managed the family grape farm for years.
Among some of her favorite things to do, she loved to get out in her yard, flower beds and even driveway to pull weeds. You might even find her at her kid’s houses pulling weeds. “Aunt Kathy” as she was commonly called by many nieces and nephews, also loved to eat and cherished sharing meals with her kids and extended family. On weekdays, you could find her at the local Senior Centers enjoying lunch with her friends. On weekends, she would attend mass at Assumption Church in Geneva, Ohio.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, Tim Linehan and son, Michael Linehan. Surviving family members are her son, Matt Linehan (Emily Lee Linehan who is expecting Kathleen’s first Granddaughter in June) of Taipei, Taiwan; daughter, Teresa Linehan (David Berry) of Madison, Ohio; and Grand Fur Babies Tailey Sue, Brandi Bean, Elliott, and Milo.
Kathleen will be sadly missed by her family and will always be remembered for her kindness, humor and above all, the incredible care and constant love for her family.
Friends will be received 4-7 pm Friday, February 16, 2024 at Behm Family Funeral Home, 175 South Broadway in Geneva. Funeral Mass will be 11 am Saturday, February 17th at Assumption Church, 594 West Main Street in Geneva. Online obituary and guest book at www.behmfuneral.com
