To John’s family I reported to John years ago at Heinens. Great and very honest man. He always seemed to make me think and come up with his answer without telling me his answer first. I’m sure you all know his “at the end of the day “ line. A line and wonderful memory of him. My deepest condolences to you all.

My deepest condolences to all of the Kane Family. John will truly be missed in the hallways of Heinen's main office. He was patient, kind, and always smiling. He took time to explain complex technology in a simple way so all could understand. Words cannot express how much we will miss him.

I know John for close to 15 years. I can only remember him with a smile. He spoke his heart and never kept me guessing regarding of our ongoing discussions. He always brought to smile to the room and had a way of making every problem look so simple. I connected with him at the beginning of the covid shut down, and it was heartening to see his sincere efforts to help me and my team as we were grappling with the changes and lockdown. I learnt the phrase "all the ducks in the same row" from some of the several planning meetings we had :-) Thank you john for all the good memories and for the person you were. May your soul rest in peace.

John's curiosity, spark, kindness and dedication will be sorely missed. We are all better to have known him. My thoughts are with your family. And when great souls die, after a period peace blooms, slowly and always irregularly. Spaces fill with a kind of soothing electric vibration. Our senses, restored, never to be the same, whisper to us. They existed. They existed. We can be. Be and be better. For they existed. -Excerpt, When Great Trees Fall, Maya Angelou
