Janis Reba Frick, age 73, of Ashtabula, passed away Monday, April 3, 2023 at her home. She was born January 21, 1950 in Clarksburgh, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Richard and Virginia (Carruth) Deurlein.

A 1967 graduate of Madison Memorial High School, she attended The Ohio State University. She worked as a hostess and waitress for many local restaurants.

She is survived by her brother, Gary Deurlein; step-sons Donald Wilson Frick, Jr. (Amelia), Gerald Joseph Frick (Abby); sister-in-law, Patricia Deurlein; many nieces and nephews, Michael (LeighAnn Rodd), Stephen (girlfriend Lindsey), Jill, Stacy, Zander, Ariana, Quinlan; and great aunt to Ezra and Silas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Frick Sr.; parents; sisters, Carol and Nancy; and brother, Tom.

Janis enjoyed living along the lakeshore, spending time at her grandparent’s summer cottage while growing up, and had a love for reading.

A Private Family Graveside Service will take place this summer. Burial will be at Fairview Memorial Park in Madison. The Behm Family Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

The family suggests contributions be made in her name to the Ashtabula County District Library, 4335 Park Avenue, Ashtabula, OH 44004.
