Beth A. Horgan, age 56 of Madison, passed away at University Hospital in Cleveland on Wednesday, November 8, 2023. Born on July 5, 1967 in Painesville she was the daughter of Lawrence and Mary Ellen (Warren) Horgan.
She attended Mrs. Schlee’s kindergarten, St. Gabriel’s School, and Hadden Elementary. She eventually graduated from Austintown-Fitch High School, near Youngstown, Ohio. She attended Youngstown State University and graduated from Towson State University, in Maryland. She received a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, as well. Beth worked to provide care to individuals suffering from dementia and more recently, to those needing home health services. She loved her work, her co-workers, and her clients.
Beth loved cooking and baking. She was a kid at heart and her heart was big. She loved “her boys” Nate and Matthew, her nephews. She loved her grand-niece, Saylor, and grand-nephew, Callan. She was proud of her Irish heritage. She loved celebrating Christmas. She was a life-long YSU Penguin fan. She was enthusiastic about her Buckeyes. She enjoyed activities with her book club crew, Mary Kay, and as a volunteer with The Old Tavern Preservation Society. She was a people-person who gave so much to so many, and loved by all.
Beth is survived by her mother, Mary Ellen; brother, Brian Horgan, nephew, Nate (Alyssa) Horgan and their children Saylor and Callan, and nephew, Matthew (Hanna) Horgan. In addition, she is survived by her close cousins, Kim Sedmak and her husband, Bruce Lee, Tim Sedmak, Todd Sedmak, and Vince Sedmak. Her extended family included her lifelong friends, Sharon, Deb, Pam, Celeste, and Dana. She was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence.
