Barbara Loxterman, age 90, of Madison, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 1, 2023. She was born August 13, 1932 in Painesville, the daughter of Mildred Virginia Clark and Reed Hayes Clark.

Barb graduated from Painesville Harvey High School in 1951 where she met the love of her life, Andy Loxterman. They were married on November 23, 1954 and remained married for 54 years until his passing in 2009.

Together, Barb and Andy owned and operated the Convenient Foods store in Painesville. She also managed Misty Ridge Farm on Dayton Road, where she bred, raised and showed quarter horses as a member of the American Quarter Horse Association. Barb was a founding member of the Madison Garden Club and an active member of Central Congregational Church. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, and feeding the birds.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Rebekah L. Sokol; grandson-in-law Keith A. Sokol; great granddaughters Lilly and Emmaline Sokol; sister-in-law Sheila Houston; niece Colleen Hughes; niece Gayle Haase; niece Melissa Smith; nephew James Haase; nephew, Chris Loxterman; and many other loving nieces, nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew James Loxterman; son, Jeffery Michael Loxterman; brothers, Robert and Sunny Clark; sister-in-law Sari Loxterman; and parents.

Friends will be received 10 am Tuesday, June 13 at Central Congregational Church, 71 Park St. Madison, with a Funeral Service to follow at 11 am. Final Resting Place will be Riverside Cemetery in Painesville. Behm Family Funeral Home of Madison is assisting the family at this time.
