

Anthony Ruta, Sr., age 88, of Madison, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at his home. He was born December 22, 1932 in Cleveland, the son of Lucy (Cammerata) and Peter Ruta, Sr. He married Lillian Bliss in Northfield, Ohio on October 25, 1961. He was a loving husband, father and “mean ass” grandfather; but most of all Lou’s daddy.
Anthony served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Korea. He worked as a truck driver for 32 years for Yellow Freight. He was a member of the Magnum Gun Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing pool. You knew Tony was around if you saw his red truck with the wolves.
He is survived by his daughter, Lucy Salyers; son, Robert (Teresa) Wilson; 7 grandchildren; Samantha his favorite (LOL) and many great-grandchildren he loved to make cry. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian; daughters, Linda Cammerata and Patricia Wilson; son, Anthony Ruta, Jr.; 4 siblings; his parents; and his beloved dogs, Rocky, Toby and Marci.
Friends will be received 11 am – 1 pm Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison with a service immediately following at the funeral home. Final Resting Place will be Fairview Cemetery.
