Ted E. Aldrich Age 88 Lifelong resident of Madison Passed away Friday, November 14, 2008 Madison Health Care in Madison, Ohio Born May 31, 1920 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Nellie (Stowe) & Stanley Martin Aldrich He started his newspaper career at Rowley Publications in 1947 and worked with Rowley until his retirement in 1984. He held Business Manager Positions at The Ashtabula Star Beacon The former Painesville Telegraph, The Geauga Times Leader, Geneva Free Press and The Madison Press. He was a 1938 Graduate of Madison High School. Attended Miami University in Oxford where he was a member of Delta Upsilon Fraternity. Joined the U.S. Navy Reserve as Cadet in the U.S. Air Corp in 1942. In World War II he was a pilot in the Naval Air Corps. He was recalled to duty during the Korean Conflict and served as flight and aerology instructor. Holding the rank of Lieutenant he was a longtime member of the Naval Reserves. He retired U.S.N.R. after 23 years. Former member of the Madison, Ashtabula and Geneva Kiwanis Clubs. 50 year member of the Madison Masonic Lake Shore Lodge 307. Past member of the Madison Country Club. He was an avid gardner. Attended Chapel United Methodist Church. Received the Madison/Perry Chamber of Commerce Community Service Award in part for over 2000 hours of dedicated volunteer work with Lake Hospital Systems. He is survived by many longtime friends and his dedicated health care providers.
