Sharon Austin, age 74 of Painesville, passed away on May 11, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. She was born on May 20, 1950 in Cleveland, the daughter of the late George and Sybil (Sebastian) Austin.
Sharon was a loving mother, friend, grandmother, and self-proclaimed “Cat Mama” to her two precious kitties. She enjoyed shopping, playing games with friends, singing and dancing to local live music, and long days at the beach. Sharon was a Cleveland Cavaliers super fan, and also enjoyed watching NASCAR.
She is survived by her sister Patti Lasher (Mike); children, Ryan Thiel (Beth) and Alison Gess; granddaughters Rylee and Jacee Turnbull; and many beloved cousins. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Kristen Schofield (nee Thiel). Please consider donating to the MS Society (nationalmssociety.org) in Sharon and Kristen’s memory. I remember in the way back, Sharon used to come out to our place for a couple weeks in the summer we used to go swimming all the time and play all kinds of games, she was so sweet. I am sorry I didn’t get to see her lately
Sharon was a sweet and beautiful high school classmate. Caught up with her at a reunion 17 years ago, still sweet and with a beautiful soul, even though facing multiple challenges. Very sad for her and her family.
