Sharon Ann (Schwarten) Lohan December 30, 1970 - May 26, 2020 Sharon Ann (Schwarten) Lohan, 49, of Perry, Ohio, passed away May 26, 2020 surrounded by her family after an 18 year battle with brain cancer. She was born December 30, 1970 to Paul and Darcia Schwarten in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Sharon graduated from Bethel Park High School (Pittsburgh) in 1988 and received her degree in Communications from John Carroll University. She married her soul mate, John Lohan, on June 3, 1995. Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, John; her two daughters, Erica and Libby; her parents, Paul and Darcia; brother, Daniel (Victoria) Schwarten; parents-in-law, Jack and Karen Lohan; sister-in-law, Tracie (Ric) Sirlouis; aunt, Nancy (Les) Palombine; uncles, Mike Aubele; Raymond (Susan) Schwarten; David (Susan) Schwarten; god-daughter, Kim Aubele; nieces, Katie (Michael) Kelley; Sarah Sirlouis; nephews, Landen and Grayson Schwarten; and many cousins. She is preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Victoria (Kaszuba) Bandi and Winfield Bandi; paternal grandfather, Raymond Schwarten; paternal grandmother, Elizabeth (Libby); and aunt, Joyce Aubele. Sharon was passionate about fighting cancer not only for herself but for her family and all those fighting cancer. She was the Chair of the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of Eastern Lake County for many years. She was selected as the 2014 Person of the Year by the Perry-Madison Chamber of Commerce in recognition of community service and volunteerism. Sharon was also passionate about her Faith and started the St. Cyprian Vacation Bible School as well as sharing her Faith by teaching PSR. Sharon was a District Executive with the Boy Scouts of America for 10 years prior to her diagnosis. Sharon was fiercely protective of her family and a compassionate and loyal friend. Calling hours will be held 4-8 pm Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio. Those attending are encouraged to wear face masks and keep social distancing. Upon arrival, guests are asked to wait in their cars and will be attended to and ushered by funeral personnel to maintain pandemic guidelines. A mass of Christian burial will be held at Saint Cyprian Church, 4223 Middle Ridge Road, Perry, Ohio on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at 11 AM, celebrated by Fr. George Kusy.   1. I met Sharon walking in Team Sharon's Hope at Relay for Life. Sharon was an amazingly beautiful person, who everyone loved and adored. She brought strength and courage into many people's lives who were struggling. I am very sad that you lost your battle, you fought so hard. My prayers for strength to your beautiful family. Very sorry for your loss.
