Rose Marie DeRubertis

Rose Marie DeRubertis, age 90 of Madison, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 with her loving family by her side. Born October 6, 1927 in Painesville, Ohio she was the daughter of the late Michael and Antoinette (Bertone) Marano. She married Joseph A. DeRubertis on April 30, 1949 and shared 64 years together. In 1974, the DeRubertis Party Center was designed and built in Madison, Ohio and for 40 years, Rose and her husband Joe, owned and operated the business. The two were also founders of the Italian American Club in Madison. Rosie, as her friends and family called her, was an avid bowler; she enjoyed watching baseball, playing Bingo, going to casinos, gardening, cooking for the Party Center and her family, and surrounding herself with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Rose is survived by her sons: Daniel (Patricia Izzarelli) DeRubertis, Joseph (Patricia Kennedy) DeRubertis; her daughters: Charmaine (Josef) Kotar, Lorraine (Danny) Pettit; her grandchildren: Daniel (Liz) DeRubertis, Alecia Dragon, Angela (Jeremy) Bartlett, Christina (Michael) Petric, Reverand Father Kevin Estabrook, Ashley (Scott) Row, and 11 Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. DeRubertis and her sister, Mary Delisio. She is also survived by her brother, Teno Marano (and Diane Whitsitt), her sister, Elda (Andrew) Pillar, numerous loving nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Friends and family will be received from 2:00 to 5:00p.m. and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, May 25, 2018 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street in Madison. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00am on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Church, 2846 Hubbard Road in Madison. Roses Grandson Fr. Kevin Estabrook will celebrate the Mass. Final resting place will be at Madison Memorial Cemetery, Arcola Road in Madison.

Dear Dan, I remember your mom watching you with with pride when you were an altar boy at Immaculate Conception Church. May you cherish many good memories of her like this, and may they bring you comfort.
Rose was a very special friend as was Joe. I treasure all the fond memories I have from the 31 years we spent together.
