Roger Knapp

Roger Knapp reached the end of the trail on August 11, 2009 and joined his Savior Jesus Christ at the ultimate Heavenly Ranch. Born November 5, 1941 to Arthur & Madeline (Angeloff) in Akron, Ohio. Roger attended North High School. He began his employment on the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1962. He retired from CSX in 1999 as a supervisor at the Collinwood Diesel Yard in Cleveland, Ohio. He loved going to Cheyenne, Wyoming for the Rodeo. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, flowers, his many pets, especially his dog, Sassy. He enjoyed watching John Wayne movies. He also enjoyed drinking coffee with his friends at area restaurants He married Darlene (Kumpf) in 1962 and they were blessed to have five children of their own and many foster kids, there was no distinction when it came to loving them. His greatest joy was seeing all his kids graduate high school. He loved his family and was proud of those who served in the military. He felt the Lord gave him more blessings in allowing him to see his grandchildren growup and experience being a great-grandfather. He was saved in 2000 and attended Cornerstone Friends Church in Madison. He is survived by his wife Darlene; children, Sandy Younce Casady, Cindy (Randy) Golding, Raymond (Lisa) Knapp, Shelly (James) Myers, Chery (Gary) Townsend, Ernest Reardon, Sarah (David) Chandler; Grandchildren, Shannon, Summer & Ivory (Jennifer) Younce, Dustin (Melanie) & Sgt. Milo Drain, Russell & Marshall (Tiffany) Golding, Eric Knapp , Michelle & James Myers, Ashley & Katrina Townsend, Ryan, Sarah, Ian & Kim Tankersley, Derek Thompson, David, Dylan, Natasha & Kayla Chandler, Megan Thom; Great Grandchildren, Hayley & Emily Drain, Keith & Ilee Younce, Harley & Shelby Golding, Payton & Lane Myers, Kylie Thom; Sisters Penny (Ray) Boross & Christine (Rick) Damerow; many nieces & nephews, special friends and extended family. Preceded in death by his parents, in-laws and son, John Chandler. Friends will be received 2-4:00 pm and 6-9:00 pm, Thursday, August 13, 2009 at The Behm Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio. Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 14, 2009, at Cornerstone Friends Church, 2300 North Hubbard Road, Madison, Ohio with Pastor Dale Diggs & Mark Shearer officiating.
