Roberta Hanson

Roberta Jean Hanson, age 81 of Ashtabula, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, March 26, 2015. Born November 22, 1933 in Louisiana, Missouri she was the daughter of the late Earl Jackson and Mary Jean (Brown) Roan. She married Howard H. Hanson in Morrison Illinois on December 29, 1956. A graduate of Louisiana High School Roberta worked for the phone company until she married the love of her life, Howard. A love that would last for many years they raised a wonderful family and Roberta was a proud, loving Mom. She will be dearly missed by many. She is survived by her children: Stephen (Kim) Hanson of Virginia Beach, VA, David Hanson of Ashtabula, Shelley (Mark) Griffiths of Ashtabula, and Leslie "Tess" (Chris) Taylor of Geneva on the Lake; 7 Grandchildren: Louisa (David) Younker, Justin (April) Jackovac, Christopher (Tiffany) Hanson, Star "Baby" Ames-VanDevander, Mellisa Hanson, Phillip VanDevander, Crystal Griffiths, and Jessie (Bryan) Zeller; 15 Great Grandchildren: Lexi, Julie, Timmy, Hailee, Haylee, Darin, Jared, Alyssa , Hannah Banana, Ashley, Brian, Jackson, Trenton Atticus, Patricia, and Wendell. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Private family services will be observed. Contributions may be made in her name to the Ashtabula office of Hospice of the Western Reserve. The Behm Family Funeral Home of Geneva is assisting the family with arrangements.
