Robert E. Tyler

Robert E. Tyler, age 95, of Ashtabula, passed away Monday, February 25, 2019 at Geneva Village Retirement Center. He was born May 24, 1923 in Mentor, and married Mildred Dodge in Geneva, on September 6, 1946. Robert served as a sergeant in the U.S Army in WWII in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of American Legion Post 103, former Senior Vice Commander of the Honor Guard at Geneva VFW Post 6846, and a charter member of First Calvary Division Association and National WWII Memorial Association. He was a member of Geneva United Church and enjoyed gardening and traveling. He is survived by his wife, Mildred; daughters, Susan (Michael) Wilcox, and JoAnne Tyler; grandchildren, Brian Wilcox and Heather (Ricky) Angus. He was preceded in death by granddaughter, Bobbi Elaine Cameron. A Graveside Service will be held at 11 am on Friday, March 1, 2019 at Saybrook Cemetery, on Center Rd. in Saybrook. Rev. Bryan Manary of United Church in Geneva will be officiating.
