Madison, OH
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Richard D. Jeric, age 69, who departed this life peacefully on March 13, 2026, at his home in Madison, Ohio. Born on November 20, 1956, in Euclid, Ohio, to Ernest and Lavern (Erickson) Jeric, Richard’s presence was a beacon of joy and love to all who knew him.
Rick dedicated over thirty years of his life to Eye Lighting International, where he served as a machinist, leaving a legacy of hard work and dedication reflected in all he accomplished. A creative spirit at heart, Rick was not only a talented writer but also the lead guitarist and vocalist of his own band, embodying the free-spirited essence of a true hippie. His love for music was matched only by his passion for the great outdoors, as he often spent his days camping, kayaking, and fishing.
More than his professional achievements, Rick cherished his role as a father and grandfather. He filled his family’s lives with laughter and love, relishing in moments spent wrestling with his grandchildren and cheering them on at their sporting events. His unwavering support and infectious enthusiasm for life inspired those closest to him. An ardent fan of the Cleveland Browns, Rick’s passion for football was a beloved family tradition that brought them together.
Rick is survived by his cherished daughters, Katrina (Bryan Adkins) Jeric and Cindy (Tony Canale) Jeric, and their loving mother, Kathleen Jeric; his beloved grandchildren, Joseph, Kyra, Anthony, Sofia, Isaiah, and Kaydance. He is also remembered fondly by his sisters, Patricia Maloney, Julie Childers, and many loved nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family and friends. Rick was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Jeric; parents, Ernest and Lavern; and his brother, Frank Jeric.
Family and friends are invited to honor Rick’s memory and celebrate his life Sunday, March 22, 2026, 2-4pm at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio 44057. A Funeral Service will follow the visitation at 4:00 PM on the same day. Rick’s final resting place will be at Madison Memorial cemetery with his son, Joe.
Rick’s family is thankful for the loving and gentle care given by his hospice team. Please make contributions in his name to Reserve Care, formerly Hospice of the Western Reserve PO Box 72101, Cleveland, Ohio 44192. Richard D. Jeric will be deeply missed yet fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him. In our hearts, his spirit will forever shine.
