Paul R. "Bob" Atkin

Paul R. “Bob” Atkin, age 96 of Madison, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2025 at Divine Living of Madison. He was born June 6, 1929 in Perry, the son of Earl and Elsie (Millard) Atkin. He married Carol J. Dill on July 9, 1955 in Painesville.

Bob served in the United States Army and stationed in Alaska. He worked as a mechanic for IRC Fibers in Painesville and then as the head bus mechanic for Madison Local Schools. Quiet and reserved, Bob loved working on his cars, fishing, and sailing.

He is survived by his daughter, Kathy (Herschel) Byers; son, Jerry Atkin. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Carol Atkin; his parents; his sisters, Mildred, Evelyn, Maxine, and Patsy; brothers, Jack, Bill, and Dick.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Bob’s life will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Trinity Lutheran Church 6345 Chapel Road in Madison. Burial will take place at Trumbull Cemetery. The Behm Family Funeral Home is assisting the family during this time.
