Natalie Kathryn Smith

December 4, 2006 ~ May 5, 2025
“Generations to come will scarce believe that such a one as this ever in flesh and blood walked upon this Earth.” Albert Einstein
On May 5, 2025, the world lost a beautiful, kind soul with a zest for life like no other. Natalie Kathryn Smith was a bright light, one of one, a true friend, big sister, beloved daughter, cherished granddaughter, hard worker and intelligent young lady. She had dreamed of her life following high school and attending Ohio Northern University in the Engineering Program. She hoped to use the knowledge she gained to work on fashioning prosthetics for young children. She was driven. While her beautiful life was cut short, we ask that you not mourn for her, but remember her with the same enthusiasm that she showed during her time here on Earth.
She is survived by her parents, Heidi and Kevin Smith; brother, Vincent Smith; grandparents, Kenneth and Kathleen Smith, Michael and Catherine Kosterman; aunts, Kimberly (Robert) Martin, Kara (Michael Fishbaugh) Smith; uncles, Peter (Angela) Kosterman, Michael (Heather) Kosterman, Jr.; cousin, Jillian Martin; honorary little sisters, Brooklyn and Kennedy. Natalie is preceded in death by her Aunt Molly Kosterman.
We wish to extend our deepest gratitude to the staff and nurses of the CTICU at University Hospitals, with special thanks to Tara, Katy, Donna, Jenna, Shaunte, Hannah, Alex and Maggie.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Hathaway Brown Moving Company, FAA, and Ohio Northern University Engineering Program in her honor.
A Celebration of Natalie’s life will be held at Hathaway Brown School, 19600 North Park Blvd, Shaker Heights, Ohio, 44122, June 3, 2025 at 2 PM. This will be a casual event. Please wear blue in Natalie’s honor.

My thoughts and prayers are with you as you process the loss of such a bright light. Her friendly, kind, spirit will be missed in this world, and like many say, heaven is a better place with her there. I have many memories of seeing Natalie playing with her grandfather back in kindergarten on the playground. She took those special times and created her own with so many other little ones here at HB. I am so very sorry for this great loss.
