Joseph J. Holy, Jr. age 80 of Geneva, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at University Hospital in Cleveland. Born November 11, 1934 in Cleveland he was the son of the late Joseph J. Holy Sr. and Anna Marie (Bergman) Holy. He married Carol Ann Powell on January 31, 1956 in Indiana. A 1952 graduate of Thompson High School, Joseph worked as a lineman at Ohio Bell for 32 years. He loved the outdoors, tending to his garden and taking thoughtful walks along the shores of Lake Erie. Joseph also loved time spent with his family and especially the moments with his grandchildren. He is survived by his daughters: Linda (Russ) Welsh of Trumbull Township, Marla (Craig) George of Chardon, and Sherry (Jon) Freeman of Austinburg; sons: Joseph Holy III of Trumbull Township and Jeffrey (Sharon) Holy of Hambden; grandchildren: Stacey (Steve) Miscko, Russell (Lisa) Welsh, Craig (Jennifer) George, Christopher (Larissa) George, Brittany Freeman, Breana Freeman, Joseph (Tanya) Holy IV, Scott Holy, Joshua (Amanda) Holy, Jeremy Holy, Jeffrey Holy, Jr., and Alexandra Holy; 6 Great Grandchildren; brother: George (Margie) Holy of Chardon; sisters: Helen Skoch of Chardon, Martha (Charles) Virant of Geneva, and Marilyn (Robert) Schwartz of Montville; sister-in-law: Barbara Tackett of Geneva. Joseph was preceded in death by his wife: Carol; his parents; sister: Jennie Ptak and brother: Frank Holy Friends will be received from 5:00 to 8:00pm on Friday, January 30, 2015 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street in Madison. A private family service will be observed at a later date. Burial will take place at Harpersfield Cemetery.
