Melvin L. Scott of Ashtabula, passed away on January 16, 2018.
Mel is survived by his son; Robert G. Scott, and his stepson; Stanley Jacob (Sarah) Glasky. He is also survived by three brothers and one sister; Charles E. (Deborah) Scott of Tacoma, WA, Richard M. Scott of Geneva, OH, Thomas E. Scott of Okeechobee, FL, and Patricia (Thomas) Tester of Wakeman, OH. Mel is also survived by his nieces and nephews; Charles R. (Julie) Scott, Tracy (Adam) Walton, Melissa (Aron) Jacob, Kelly R. Scott, Thomas (Kelley) Tester.
Mel was preceded in death by his parents; Guy and Betty (Ingram) Scott. His niece; Lori L. Scott, and his wife; Jayne Scott.
Mel was a native of Geneva, OH. Born November 30, 1949, Mel graduated from Geneva High School. Mel worked as a professional painter and was noted for his meticulous work. He loved Geneva, and tried to maintain childhood friendships. Mel had a quick and witty personality and he loved spending time with friends and family, telling jokes. He also loved collecting antiques, and photos of the local area. He was a long time member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 2243 of Geneva and the Young Mens Social Club in Ashtabula.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, 2:00 p.m., July 21, 2018 at the Geneva Eagles Club, 120 Depot St., Geneva, Ohio 44041. Final resting place will be N. Madison Cemetery.
