Melvin J. Chapuis Jr.

Melvin “Mel” J. Chapuis Jr. age 85 passed away October 18, 2025. He will be greatly missed for his sense of humor, kindness, laughter and amazing generosity.
He loved collecting and restoring cars, collecting motor boats and anything else that he found fascinating, which was just about everything including a tuba. He spent hours building a beautiful home for his family on his farm land. He so enjoyed walking the property including down to the creek. Mel retired from Otis Elevator and enjoyed his monthly luncheons with his buddies.
Survived by his wife, Georgi, daughter, Susan (Chuck) Atwell, grandchildren, Charles, Samantha and Sidney. Great grandfather of Callie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Sr. and Florence (Reppert) Chapuis, late wife, Joan and daughter Melanie. At his request no services will be observed, cremation will take place.
