Mary Frances Welsh

Mary Frances Welsh, 94, of Madison, died October 7, 2018 at Rae Ann Nursing in Geneva. She was born December 28, 1923 in Krayn, PA to Joseph and Mary (Skubic) Zakraysek.
She left school at an early age to help support her siblings after losing both her parents within 11 days of each other. She helped her husband and son in their construction business as a bookkeeper. She was an excellent homemaker, baking homemade bread and cooking from scratch nearly every day. She polished airplane props during WWII and was part of “Rosie the Riveter Gang.” For 75 years, she was also a member of the SNPJ Lodge #174. Mary put her family first, yet would always help anyone in need and never had a cruel word to say.
She is survived by her sons Don (Dottie) Welsh and Ron Welsh; grandson, Ryan (Katie) Welsh; great grandson, William Welsh and sister, Christine Welch; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Charles A. Welsh; parents; sisters, Ann Volcjak, Molly Beebe, Helen Fisher, Jenny Kusher and brother, Joseph Zakraysek.
Friends will be received Thursday, October 11, 2018 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St. Madison, OH 44057. A funeral service will be Friday, October 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Deacon Richard Kuhlman will officiate and final resting place will be Madison Memorial Cemetery on Arcola Rd. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave. Cleveland, OH 44110. The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St. Madison assisted her family with arrangements.
