Marilyn Catherine Johnson

Marilyn Catherine Johnson, age 79, of Geneva, Ohio, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2015. She was born November 24, 1935 in Oil City, PA to Catherine (nee Schoenfelder) and Melvin Silves. Marilyn married William F. Johnson in Oil City, PA on February 12, 1955. Marilyn was a 1953 graduate of Oil City High School and attended Capital University. She was the owner/operator of Geneva Golden Dawn. Marilyn enjoyed teaching piano for ten years. She played the organ for 45 years at local churches including the Zion Lutheran Church where she was a member. She enjoyed needlework and gardening. She is survived by her husband, William F. Johnson, her daughter, Gail (Al) Hogan of Concord, OH, her sons, John Michael Johnson of Madison, OH and David Paul Johnson of Elkridge, MD, three grandchildren, Doug Hogan, Stephanie Hogan, and David Johnson Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Joan Beach. A Celebration of her life will be held 7:00 p.m., Friday, April 24, 2015 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 615 Prospect Road, Ashtabula, OH 44004.
