Lawrence "Larry" Schwed

Lawrence "Larry" Schwed, age 75 of Thompson, passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2014. Born February 25, 1939 in Cleveland, he was the son of Olga (Bucknot) & Oswald Schwed. He married Brenda J. Bellamy in Wickliffe on August 7, 1976. Larry was the Applications Engineering Manager for PMC Industries, retiring in 2004. He was a member of the last class to graduate from Willoughby Union High School in 1957, and a member of the reunion committee. He was a member of Thompson United Methodist Church and particularly enjoyed mission work. Larry volunteered for the Geauga Habitat for Humanity and had proudly served with the National Guard at Camp Perry for 6 years. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Brenda Schwed; sons, James (Jamie) Schwed, Jeffrey (Terri) Schwed, Scott (Beverly) Highley; grandchildren, Nathaniel & Jordan Schwed, Shannon & Nichole Schwed, Nicholas & Jonathan Highley; sister, Sally (Gary) Boyer; brother, Robert Schwed; brother-in-law, Robert (Jean) Bellamy; sisters-in-law, Bea Ferguson and Rita Bellamy. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Robin Schwed; brothers-in-law, Ed Ferguson and Roy Bellamy. Friends will be received 6-8 pm on Thursday October 16, 2014 at THE BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 26 River Street, Madison, OH 44057. A funeral service will be 11 am Friday October 17, 2014 at Thompson United Methodist Church, 6758 Madison Road, Thompson, OH with Pastor Tom Gruver officiating.
