Joan K. Chapuis

Joan K. Chapuis, 71, of Painesville, passed away peacefully, May 28, 2015, at home. She was born June 9, 1943, in Painesville the daughter of the late, Guy Oliver and Minnie Genevieve (nee Nelson) Upper and had been a lifelong area resident. Joan was a talented wood carver, often making little wood Gnomes and walking sticks. She enjoyed crocheting, and rubberstamping, and tending to her garden on their 53 1/2 acres at home. Her biggest chore, but also a joy was putting up with her husband Melvin over the last 53 years. She is survived by her loving husband, Melvin, Jr.; daughter, Susan (Chuck) Atwell; grandchildren, Charles, Samantha, and Sydney; and sisters-in-law, Charlene (Earl) Bledsoe and Nancy Namestnik. Joan was preceded in death by her daughter, Melanie Ann Chapuis; brother-in-law, John Namestnik; and her parents. At her request no services will be observed, cremation will take place.
