Jerry Lynn Deel

Jerry Lynn Deel, age 81 of Madison, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Medina Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born January 6, 1945 in Kittanning, PA, the son of Andrew Jackson and Esther Belle (Lewis) Deel. He married Geraldine Norris in McVille, PA on August 27, 1966.

A graduate of Freeport High School in Pennsylvania, Jerry went on to receive his Bachelors Degree from Clarion University. A teacher for Madison Local School District, Jerry taught Science and Biology for 40 years. He also taught at Lakeland Community College. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping. Jerry also enjoyed traveling and vacationing with his family to Virginia Beach.

He is survived by sons, Paul Deel, Jeff Deel, Brian (Jennifer) Deel; grandchildren, Evan and Hannah; sister, Sharron Goldinger. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Geraldine Deel; his parents; brothers, Dan, Roger, Kevin, and Mark; sister Cheryl.
