Jean M. Hatch, Age 79, former resident of Geneva and Madison, passed away Monday, November 26, 2012 Golden Living Center-Western Reserve in Kirtland, OH. Born July 19, 1933 in Madison to Twila (Ross) & Clarence James Hatch Jean was a Licensed Practical Nurse at Lake East Hospital from 1952 retiring in 1983. She was a former member of the Licensed Practical Nurse Association of Lake County and one of the first Licensed Practical Nurses in Ohio. She also was a member of the Sorority Guild of Madison and volunteered at the Madison Historical Society. She loved to read, play cards, and travel. Her travels included visits to Hawaii and all of the Presidential birthplaces through President Jimmy Carter. She is survived by first cousins, Leota Louise Henderson of El Toro, CA, Donald (Paula) Blynt of Westfield, NY, Melvin (Phyllis) Blynt of Fletcher, NC, and Gladys (Rolland) Hiscox of Gastonia, NC and their children. She always held a special place in her heart for her friend and caregiver Kate Doubledee Wells of Leroy and the other Doubledee girls, Nancy Barclay of Albany, GA, Susan Tucker of Winter Springs, FL, and Janet Swank of Holly Springs, NC. She was preceded in death by her Parents. The family wishes to thank Hospice of the Western Reserve, especially the team members who gave Jean such loving care, and the staff of Golden Living Center—Western Reserve Nursing Home for their care and support. Friends will be received 10-11 AM, Saturday, December 8, 2012, at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio with a funeral service following at 11:00 AM. Final Resting Place will be at North Madison Cemetery in Madison. Contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44110-2602.
