James W. Cavender

James W. Cavender, age 58 of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at the Cleveland Clinic. Born February 3, 1956 in Painesville he was the son of the late Marvin and Beatrice (nee Corle) Cavender. He married Denise Cortright in Madison on April 1, 1984. Jim worked for many years as an attendant at the South Madison Marathon Station. Always trusting and honest he had a big heart and was always there to lend a helping hand. An avid Cleveland sports fan he enjoyed watching the Browns and the Indians. He could often be found tinkering around the house or mowing the lawn. A proud father he loved watching his sons play football for the Blue Streaks and he also enjoyed his morning breakfast with his good friend Skip. He is survived by his wife Denise; sons Michael and Cody; brother Marvin and sisters Jean Kirk, Janice Milbrandt, and Irma (William) Kilty, as well a many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and best friend Tim Norris. Friends will be receieved from 2:00 to 4:00pm on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street in Madison. There will be an opportunity to share favorite stories with the family at 4:00pm. Contirbutions may be made to the family.
